Pascal Siakam made a 3-pointer with 7.3 seconds remaining in overtime to help the Indiana Pacers defeat the Boston Celtics 135-132 in the NBA on Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
Jaylen Brown missed a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game on Boston’s final possession.

Boston was down by 24 with 3:35 left in the third quarter and trailed by 21 with 8:55 remaining but tied the game on Jayson Tatum’s 3-pointer with 14.4 seconds to play.
Article continues after this advertisementTatum scored a game-high 37 points but was 5 of 18 on 3-point attempts. The Celtics received 25 points from Brown and 23 from Derrick White. Brown was 1 of 11 from long range.

The Celtics shot 40.4 percent from the field, including 33.3 percent (19 of 57) on 3-point tries. It was Boston’s first loss in five games this season.

The Celtics trailed by eight late in the first quarter, but White made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to trim Indiana’s lead to 35-31.
Indiana’s lead in the first half peaked at 13 points, and the Pacers were ahead 67-57 at halftime. Boston shot 37.3 percent (19 of 51) from the field in the half, while Siakam was scoring 17 points.
Boston trailed 100-86 entering the fourth quarter.

The Pacers played without center Myles Turner (sprained left ankle). Turner averaged 15 points and 6.3 rebounds in Indiana’s first four games this season.
